Senior Accountant – Professional Services

About the role

We are a growing international professional services firm seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our UK team. The role is ideal for a hands‑on accounting professional who can manage multiple client engagements in a fast‑paced, client‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and finalise monthly and quarterly management accounts.
• Support year‑end close processes and liaise with external auditors.
• Manage day‑to‑day client relationships and respond to accounting and compliance queries.
• Collaborate with international teams across multiple jurisdictions.
• Perform hands‑on bookkeeping and ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Support internal reporting, workflow management, and process improvements, including automation.
• Assist with UK VAT and Corporate Tax compliance.
• Provide guidance to junior team members as required.
• Deliver ad‑hoc assignments such as board reporting, company formations, and group consolidations.

Required profile

• Practical accounting experience in practice and/or industry.
• Strong hands‑on bookkeeping expertise.
• Good understanding of IFRS/IFRS for SMEs (UK GAAP advantageous).
• Experience preparing management and statutory accounts.
• Proficiency in cloud‑based accounting systems.
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and complex formulas.
• Exposure to automation tools or AI‑driven solutions.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills with confidence in client‑facing environments.
• Experience working with international teams; exposure to financial services, private equity, or commodities is a plus.
