Senior Accounting Manager – Global SOX

About the role

Join Gallagher’s Global Accounting Centre in Glasgow as a Senior Accounting Manager responsible for leading the worldwide SOX programme. You will work closely with senior stakeholders and the US Accounting Centre of Excellence in Chicago to ensure a robust, compliant, and continuously improving SOX framework.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the global SOX programme and deliver the annual compliance cycle on schedule.
• Lead SOX scoping, risk assessments, and control design to enhance financial reporting quality.
• Maintain high‑quality SOX documentation and oversee testing processes.
• Identify control deficiencies, develop remediation plans, and monitor their implementation.
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors on all SOX‑related matters.
• Provide regular updates to senior stakeholders on risks, control issues, and recommendations.
• Drive process improvements focused on quality, standardisation, and automation.
• Produce clear technical reports for senior management and auditors.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ICAS, CIMA, ACCA, CA or equivalent).
• Proven ability to manage priorities and meet strict deadlines.
• Adaptable, detail‑oriented and comfortable in a dynamic environment.
• Strong people‑management and organisational capabilities.
• Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom.
