Senior Acoustic Consultant – Southampton

About the role

Our client, a growing environmental consultancy in Southampton, is seeking a Senior Acoustic Consultant to lead acoustic work across residential, commercial, education and infrastructure projects. You will deliver technically robust solutions from early design through planning and construction, while supporting your own professional development within a collaborative team.

Key responsibilities

• Manage environmental noise, vibration and building acoustics projects from inception to completion.
• Conduct site surveys, acoustic assessments and detailed technical analyses.
• Prepare high‑quality technical reports and provide practical advice to clients.
• Coordinate site inspections and work closely with multidisciplinary project teams.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring innovative acoustic solutions.

Required profile

• A degree in Acoustics or a related discipline.
• Minimum four years of consultancy experience in environmental and/or building acoustics.
• Proven ability to produce acoustic assessments and technical documentation.
• Strong communication, organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Capability to work independently and contribute effectively within a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CadnaA acoustic modelling software.
• Proficiency with Insul acoustic analysis software.
