Senior AIS Controls Engineer

About the role

CooperVision is seeking a Senior AIS Controls Engineer to join its UK Manufacturing Engineering team. Based in Hamble/Chandlers Ford, Hampshire, you will provide specialist controls and automation expertise across lens manufacturing sites, ensuring highly automated systems run efficiently and reliably.

Key responsibilities

• Support and optimise machine control systems, SCADA applications and manufacturing automation.
• Troubleshoot and resolve controls‑related breakdowns using root‑cause analysis.
• Design, implement and validate complex integrated control systems for new equipment and processes.
• Develop performance‑monitoring applications, dashboards and OEE reporting solutions.
• Integrate control systems with broader business and manufacturing execution systems.
• Lead engineering projects, manage external vendors and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Coach, mentor and develop engineers and trainees within the department.

Required skills

• Industrial control platforms such as RSLogix, ControlLogix and FactoryTalk.
• SCADA application development and maintenance.
• Experience with performance‑monitoring tools, dashboards and OEE reporting.
