Senior Analyst: Application Support

About the role

Norton Rose Fulbright, a global law firm, is hiring a Senior Application Support Analyst for its EMEA Finance Systems team. The team supports the core EMEA finance system (Aderant Sierra), covering time, billing, expenses, vendors, tax and reporting. The role provides day-to-day support to finance operations and other system users, including senior stakeholders, and covers system and process improvement, testing and support for new users.

Key responsibilities

• Support application users and respond to queries and requests from fee earners, secretaries and finance operations staff.
• Identify, analyse and resolve application problems, minimise errors and downtime, and work with third-party support providers, IT and finance operations on logged issues.
• Provide advanced technical support for financial systems, their SQL environments and related customisations and integrations, and oversee regular systems routines such as month-end and year-end processing.
• Configure system enhancements and customisations and act as administrator for Aderant Expert, iTimekeep and BillBlast.
• Identify opportunities for system improvements, analyse, develop, test and implement changes, and improve procedures and processes for all stakeholders.
• Mentor junior team members and give technical guidance.

Required profile

• Ideally degree educated and/or 5+ years of experience in similar roles.
• Experience with financial systems and finance operations, ideally in a large, global law firm or other professional services environment.
• Excellent customer service, able to handle complex and challenging issues.
• Willingness to upskill through internal and external training, discretion and confidentiality, and a team-player approach.

Required skills

• Deep technical and/or application support experience, preferably in finance practice management systems (FPMS).
• Advanced SQL, including running queries unsupervised.
• Experience in structured ITSM frameworks such as ITIL.
• Familiarity with general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, forecasting and reporting is ideal.
