Senior Associate Device Engineer – 12‑Month Contract

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Associate Device Engineer on a 12‑month contract to support the development and evaluation of innovative drug‑delivery devices within a multidisciplinary engineering team.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute mechanical and functional testing of drug‑delivery devices such as syringes and cartridges.
• Develop test methods, experimental rigs and laboratory test setups.
• Support design verification and validation activities.
• Analyse experimental data using statistical techniques and Design of Experiments (DOE).
• Contribute to risk‑management activities, including Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
• Prepare design‑control documentation and technical reports.
• Collaborate with design, quality, regulatory, human‑factors and formulation teams.
• Ensure laboratory work complies with ISO 13485 and established quality procedures.

Required profile

• Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience in the medical‑device, pharmaceutical or drug‑delivery sector.
• Knowledge of design verification, device testing and analytical test methods.
• Familiarity with ISO 13485, design controls and risk management (FMEA).
• Proficiency with CAD software, preferably Creo.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a hands‑on engineering approach.
