Senior Associate – Employment Law (Hybrid, Manchester)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Associate to join our highly regarded Employment Law team in Manchester. The role involves providing pragmatic, commercially focused advice to a diverse client base, covering both contentious and non‑contentious matters.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients on day‑to‑day HR issues, disciplinaries, grievances, TUPE and collective consultation.
• Draft and review contracts, policies, settlement agreements and handbooks.
• Manage Employment Tribunal cases from inception to resolution, including drafting claims and preparing evidence.
• Support ACAS early conciliation, settlements and employment strategies.
• Deliver training, updates and thought leadership to clients and colleagues.
• Supervise and mentor junior team members and contribute to business development.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor or barrister (UK) with a current practising certificate.
• Strong experience across both contentious and non‑contentious employment law.
• Excellent drafting, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Commercial awareness and a client‑first mindset.
• Experience supervising or mentoring junior lawyers (or readiness to step into this role).
