Senior Associate – Plot Sale Team

About the role

Birketts LLP is seeking a Senior Associate to join its Plot Sale Team in Norwich. You will work closely with the Head of the team, providing fee‑earning support and contributing to the growth of a rapidly expanding practice that handles thousands of plot sales each year.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality legal advice on plot sales, affordable disposals, staircasing and related conveyancing matters.
• Assist the Head of Plot Sale Team in business development and client relationship management.
• Manage a portfolio of transactions from instruction through completion, ensuring technical excellence.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the firm’s Real Estate and Dispute Resolution groups.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory and firm‑wide standards.

Required profile

• Qualified Solicitor, Licensed Conveyancer or Legal Executive with 4‑6 years post‑qualification experience.
• Experience gained at a strong regional or City law firm, preferably within real‑estate or conveyancing practice.
• Demonstrated ability to handle complex plot‑sale transactions and affordable housing disposals.
• Strong commercial awareness and a proactive approach to business development.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of plot‑sale and conveyancing procedures.
• Familiarity with affordable housing schemes such as RTA, RTB, resales, assignments and staircasing.
• Excellent analytical and drafting skills specific to real‑estate transactions.
