Senior Audit & Accounts Accountant

About the role

This opportunity is aimed at a recently qualified ACA or ACCA accountant with around one year of post‑qualification experience who wants to develop a career in audit and accounts within a respected independent practice.

Key responsibilities

• Audit: plan and deliver statutory audit assignments, prepare high‑quality working papers and lead fieldwork both on‑site and remotely.
• Accounts and Tax: prepare statutory accounts for limited companies and complete corporation tax and self‑assessment returns.
• Client Management: build and maintain strong relationships with a diverse client portfolio, respond promptly to queries and deliver proactive, high‑quality service.
• Team Development: support, coach and mentor junior staff, contribute to process improvements and promote the use of technology.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified with about one year of post‑qualification experience in an accountancy practice.
• Proven experience delivering statutory audits and preparing statutory accounts and tax returns for varied clients.
• Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards and auditing principles.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
