Senior Audit Manager – Not‑for‑Profit Specialist

About the role

An ambitious mid‑tier accountancy firm is seeking an experienced Audit Manager or Senior Manager to join its market‑leading Not‑for‑Profit team. You will work with a diverse portfolio of charities and not‑for‑profit organisations, playing a key role in the practice’s continued growth.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of charity and not‑for‑profit audit clients.
• Lead audit assignments from planning through to completion.
• Build trusted client relationships and provide technical and commercial advice.
• Advise on accounting matters, governance, controls and regulatory issues.
• Support business development through networking, tenders and identifying opportunities.
• Mentor and develop Audit Seniors and trainees.
• Stay up‑to‑date with sector developments, including Charities SORP and regulatory changes.
• Contribute to recruitment, training and wider firm initiatives.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualification.
• Strong audit background within practice.
• Experience auditing charities and not‑for‑profit organisations.
• Good knowledge of Charities SORP, VAT and tax issues affecting the sector.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Collaborative approach with ability to manage and develop junior team members.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple assignments.
