Senior Azure Cloud Engineer

About the role

AND Digital is looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer in Leeds to build scalable cloud solutions for its clients. The role sits within a team of specialists who design, deploy and maintain production services in Azure, from architecture and infrastructure to CI/CD, monitoring, security and cost optimisation.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and deploy production services in Azure, covering architecture, infrastructure provisioning, CI/CD automation, high availability, monitoring, security and cost optimisation.
• Maintain an IaC codebase using Terraform, PowerShell and Azure DevOps, embedding Cloud and DevOps best practices in client projects.
• Discuss the commercial benefits of cloud and troubleshoot brownfield platforms as well as design greenfield cloud platforms.
• Apply knowledge of AI models and agent implementation using Microsoft Foundry.
• Share knowledge by mentoring and upskilling clients and colleagues.
• Lead technical teams and lead or work in CI/CD environments.

Required profile

• Solid experience managing and deploying production services in Azure.
• Previous DevOps or platform engineering experience, and experience in CI/CD environments.
• Experience leading technical teams.
• Ability to integrate on-premises legacy systems (Active Directory, DNS, certificate management, SQL Server, Windows Server).
• Comfortable evaluating new technologies and vendor products for client problems.

Required skills

• Azure networking: Azure Firewall, ExpressRoute, DNS zones, VNet planning, routing and peering, public DNS and public certificate authorities.
• On-premises networking including routing and firewalls.
• Azure Front Door and API Management with VNet integration.
• Azure App Services and Function Apps with VNet integration.
• Web application firewalls, monitoring and alerting.
• Deployment and management of Azure resources with Terraform and Azure DevOps pipelines.
• Ideal certifications: Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Network Engineer Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, (Azure) DevOps Engineer Expert.
