Senior C++ Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a senior, hands‑on C++ engineer to design and optimise the low‑latency trading and market‑data stack for a top‑tier global trading firm. This is a head‑hunt for a single exceptional talent who will own performance‑critical systems and work closely with traders and quant researchers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and optimise the low‑latency hot‑path for automated/electronic trading using modern C++ (C++17/20).
• Develop and maintain market‑data infrastructure, including feed handlers, ticker plant, order‑book construction and data normalisation.
• Implement exchange connectivity and FIX‑based order flow, together with smart‑order‑routing components.
• Reduce tick‑to‑trade latency through lock‑free data structures, cache‑ and NUMA‑aware design, and kernel‑bypass networking (Solarflare/Onload, DPDK).
• Profile, measure and eliminate latency and jitter across the full stack.
• Translate traders’ and quants’ strategies into reliable, high‑performance production code.
• Own components end‑to‑end, ensuring reliability, observability and incident response.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of professional C++ development in production low‑latency systems.
• Strong experience with modern C++ (C++17 minimum, C++20 preferred).
• Background in traditional financial services such as proprietary trading, market‑making, HFT, investment‑bank e‑trading or systematic hedge funds.
• Direct exposure to market‑data, feed‑handler or electronic‑trading pipelines.
• Hands‑on experience with lock‑free programming, multicast, low‑level networking and performance profiling.
• Comfortable working fully remote on a 12‑month contract.
