Senior Claims Executive

About the role

Howden, a global insurance group, is hiring a Senior Claims Executive for its Sports Claims Division in Birmingham. The role acts as a key liaison between clients and insurers, leading claims processes efficiently and in line with regulatory standards. It covers liability claims and supports property and personal accident matters.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and resolve liability claims with clients, insurers and third parties
• Prepare and present claims documentation to underwriters and respond to technical queries
• Maintain accurate records on internal systems
• Negotiate claims settlements and supervise delegated authority contracts
• Mentor clients throughout the claims process and mentor junior colleagues
• Contribute to internal projects and ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and company procedures
• Process collections, payments and related data, and build positive relationships with clients and stakeholders

Required profile

• Strong experience handling liability claims, ideally within an international broker
• Solid understanding of insurance principles and the claims-handling process
• Familiarity with London market operations (Lloyd's and company markets)
• A-Level standard (grades A-C or equivalent); progression toward professional qualifications such as CII is desirable but not crucial
• Experience mentoring or supporting less experienced team members
