Senior Clinical Negligence Solicitor (5+ PQE)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Solicitor to join a leading claimant law firm’s Clinical Negligence team in Manchester. The role involves managing high‑value medical negligence claims from inception through to settlement or trial, while contributing to the department’s growth.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of multi‑track clinical negligence claims, including birth injury, brain injury, surgical error and delayed diagnosis.
• Draft pleadings, witness statements and schedules of loss.
• Instruct and liaise with medical experts and counsel.
• Conduct liability and quantum investigations and negotiate high‑value settlements.
• Supervise and mentor junior fee earners.
• Support business development and maintain client relationships.

Required profile

• Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with typically 6+ years PQE (applications outside this range welcome).
• Proven experience in claimant clinical negligence work on complex, high‑value matters.
• Ability to manage files independently and supervise junior staff.
• Excellent communication and client care skills.
• Resilient under pressure with strong commercial awareness.
