Senior Commerce Writer, Vogue - FTC (Mat Cover)

About the role

British Vogue is looking for an experienced fashion journalist to join the Vogue Shopping team in London. The role expands and optimises the fashion shopping vertical across digital platforms, crafting compelling shopping content that drives commercial growth through affiliate and partnerships. It sits alongside the wider editorial team and works with fashion, market, creative and audience teams.

Key responsibilities

• Own the day-to-day editorial direction of fashion shopping, covering key retail and seasonal moments such as Fashion Week, Cyber Week and major sales.
• Drive the performance of the shopping vertical against affiliate targets, analysing results with the Shopping Editor and Shopping Director.
• Manage the long-term editorial calendar, working with Audience Development to optimise search and distribution and keep evergreen content strong.
• Write, pitch and optimise up to 8-10 new and evergreen commerce stories per week, and edit and optimise copy from writers, contributors and freelancers.
• Create editor-led user-generated content for articles, social and newsletters.
• Identify new categories, products and trends, and plan coverage using purchasing data, site analytics and search trends.
• Produce regular reports on content, audience and commercial performance, and track purchasing data across sites, social and newsletters.
• Represent British Vogue at fashion market appointments, press days and launches, and mentor junior team members.

Required profile

• Experienced fashion journalist with a clear point of view on products, brands and trends.
• Highly organised, collaborative and confident writer, commissioner and editor.
• Previous experience creating commerce content that has driven revenue is highly desirable.

• Understanding of affiliate metrics such as click-through rate, conversion rate, average order value and commission rate (CPA)
