Senior Commercial Account Handler – Insurance Brokerage

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Commercial Account Handler to join a well‑established corporate insurance broker in Mansfield. The role blends the stability of a 40‑year‑old firm with the dynamism of a business experiencing rapid growth, offering exposure to high‑value corporate and commercial portfolios, client visits, and London Market placements.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and develop relationships with sophisticated corporate clients, ensuring their complex insurance needs are met.
• Collaborate closely with Account Executives on high‑level books, attend client meetings, and act as a key point of contact.
• Assist the broking team with London Market activity, including Lloyd’s placements.
• Support strategic planning, forecasting, and target setting with divisional leadership.
• Uphold strict file accuracy and FCA compliance standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Senior Account Handler within the insurance sector.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to sell, cross‑sell, and build lasting relationships with clients and underwriters.
• Professional, organised, and capable of managing a desk with minimal supervision.
• Aspiring to progress to an Account Executive role and willing to pursue ACII qualification.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of corporate insurance products and market practices.
• Understanding of FCA regulations and compliance requirements.
• Familiarity with London Market and Lloyd’s placement processes.
