Senior Commercial Accountant

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Accountant to join a busy finance team in Thame. Working on a hybrid basis (three days in the office), you will provide accurate financial reporting, insightful analysis and business partnering support to drive commercial decisions and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with operational teams to deliver financial insight and support business performance.
• Produce month‑end balance‑sheet reporting, reconciliations and intercompany cash balances.
• Prepare monthly management information, forecasts and group financial reports.
• Assist with annual budgeting, forecasting and audit processes.
• Develop financial reports, dashboards and Power BI visualisations to monitor revenue, expenditure and trends.
• Analyse historical data to identify performance improvement opportunities.
• Act as the primary contact for ERP system enhancements and finance‑related projects.
• Review customs duty data for completeness and accuracy.
• Identify and implement improvements to finance processes, controls and reporting efficiency.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of accounting experience.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Confident communicator able to work independently and build relationships across the business.
• Professional qualifications such as ACCA or CIMA are desirable.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel, including macro development.
• Power BI for data modelling and dashboard creation.
• Experience with ERP systems and finance‑related implementations.
• Basic coding knowledge (e.g., VBA or similar).
