Senior Computational Scientist

About the role

SRG is a clinical cancer genomics company developing innovative diagnostic tools. They are looking for a Senior Computational Scientist / Bioinformatician to develop bioinformatic algorithms and pipelines for early R&D. The role is based in Cambridge with a hybrid working model.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the development of novel methodologies and algorithms.
• Perform computational analysis of new and custom assay prototypes, such as NGS‑based assays.
• Provide innovative in‑silico solutions to investigate or interpret existing and novel data using internal or external sources.
• Implement the first bioinformatics pipeline to support initial product investigation.

Required profile

• A PhD, MSc or equivalent qualification in computational science, bioinformatics or a related field.
• Significant proven experience in bioinformatics and scientific programming.
• Experience supervising project execution as a computational technical lead.
• Hands‑on experience analysing large‑scale clinical, biological/omics or drug data sets, preferably NGS/genomic/transcriptomics data.
