Senior Counsel – R&D Legal Team

About the role

GSK is seeking a Senior Counsel to join its R&D Legal Team in London. You will act as a trusted legal partner for research and development programmes across Respiratory, Immunology and Inflammation, as well as platform teams supporting discovery, development and supply of medicines and vaccines.

Key responsibilities

• Provide primary legal advice for key R&D pipeline assets, covering both transactional and regulatory matters.
• Represent legal on cross‑functional project teams and governance forums related to those assets.
• Support development operations groups such as the UK Cambridge Clinical Unit.
• Facilitate external collaborations and manage legal risk across multiple countries.
• Work closely with scientists, clinicians, regulatory and commercial colleagues in a global, matrixed environment.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor or barrister with significant experience in pharmaceutical or life‑science R&D law.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver clear, timely advice in a fast‑moving scientific setting.
• Experience working on multi‑country projects and managing external collaborations.
• Strong commercial judgment and collaborative mindset.

• Excellent communication skills for interfacing with scientific and commercial teams.
