Senior Cyber Security Analyst

About the role

The Senior Cyber Security Analyst will join the Council’s central ICT Cyber Security team to strengthen operational resilience and support an active Cyber Transformation Programme. This hands‑on position focuses on day‑to‑day security operations, endpoint threat detection and internal compliance tracking, acting as a bridge between technical security functions and governance frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor the Council’s security posture using CrowdStrike Falcon and integrated log‑management tools, investigating and escalating alerts as needed.
• Support compliance and governance by aligning with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, maintaining documentation, policy compliance and audit requirements across ICT teams.
• Oversee vulnerability scanning schedules, analyse scan results and recent penetration‑testing reports, and prioritise remediation actions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a senior cyber security role within an operational environment.
• Hands‑on expertise with Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) platforms, particularly CrowdStrike Falcon.
• Familiarity with NIST CSF or similar compliance frameworks and vulnerability management processes.

• 6‑month initial contract (extendable)
