Senior Data Architect – ML & Agentic AI (Hybrid, 2‑Year FTC)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Data Architect to lead the design and implementation of data solutions that support analytics, machine learning and agentic AI initiatives for a major UK financial services group. The role is hybrid, based in London, and is offered on a two‑year fixed‑term contract.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain enterprise, domain and solution‑level data architecture aligned with business and technology strategy.
• Design logical and physical data models for operational, analytical and AI use cases.
• Establish data architecture standards, principles, patterns and reference architectures.
• Provide architectural oversight and guidance to delivery teams.
• Collaborate with business, data, analytics, security and engineering stakeholders to translate requirements into robust solutions.
• Support data governance, metadata management, data quality and lineage initiatives.
• Contribute to architectural roadmaps and investment planning.
• Review and assure data designs for security, resilience, performance and regulatory compliance.
• Mentor colleagues and promote strong data architecture practices.

Required profile

• 3+ years experience as a Senior Data Architect or in a comparable technical architecture role.
• Strong data modelling skills across conceptual, logical and physical layers.
• Experience designing data solutions for analytics, reporting and machine‑learning workloads.
• Understanding of how trusted data underpins agentic AI solutions.
• Solid grounding in data governance, data quality, metadata management and data lineage.
