Senior Data Platform Manager

About the role

A leading organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Data Platform Manager to lead the delivery, optimisation and ongoing evolution of its cloud‑based data platform ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Lead platform delivery, operations and service management.
• Drive platform modernisation, automation and scalability initiatives.
• Establish governance, engineering standards and best practices.
• Ensure platform reliability, performance and operational excellence.
• Manage critical incidents, risks and technical dependencies.
• Lead Agile delivery across multiple workstreams.
• Drive monitoring, observability and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide technical leadership across data, cloud and platform technologies.
• Mentor engineers and technical leads.
• Collaborate closely with architecture, engineering and business stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading Data Platform, Cloud, Integration or Platform Engineering teams.
• Strong background with modern data platform technologies such as Snowflake and/or Kafka.
• Hands‑on experience with Azure, AWS or GCP.
• Good knowledge of Kubernetes and containerised platforms.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git‑based source control and automation.
• Understanding of platform governance, security and operational best practices.
• Track record managing enterprise‑scale production environments.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and leadership abilities.
• Experience working in Agile environments.
