Senior Design Engineer – Wing Fuel Systems Installation

About the role

Airbus is looking for a senior design engineer to lead the wing fuel systems installation team in Filton, Bristol. You will be responsible for the full design lifecycle of fuel system installations across Airbus commercial aircraft, supporting both new concepts and existing product lines.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end design activities from concept through modification and optimisation of wing fuel systems.
• Provide technical support to global manufacturing sites, in‑service aircraft, and airworthiness programmes.
• Act as a technical Approval and Authorization signatory for design releases and non‑conformances.
• Mentor junior engineers and develop future technical signatories within the team.

Required profile

• Extensive experience as an aerospace design engineer with a focus on aircraft fuel system installation.
• Proven track record of holding technical approval or authorization responsibilities.
• Strong communication and project coordination skills, with willingness to travel to UK and international sites.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in CATIA V5/V6.
• Familiarity with configuration and product data management tools such as PASS, DPDS, VPM, ICC.
