Senior DevOps Engineer – GCP (Bristol, 2 days onsite)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer with deep Google Cloud Platform expertise to join a large‑scale cloud and platform engineering programme within a highly regulated enterprise environment. The role is based in Bristol with a hybrid working model (2 days onsite) and is offered on a long‑term contract basis.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and manage GCP infrastructure for development and production environments.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines for cloud‑native deployments.
• Support Kubernetes/GKE platform engineering and containerised workloads.
• Establish monitoring, logging, observability and operational best practices.
• Collaborate with engineering, security and architecture teams to improve platform reliability and automation.
• Implement deployment strategies such as canary, blue/green and rollback.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Proven expertise in Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience with Kubernetes and Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
• Background building CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins or ArgoCD.
• Proficiency with Docker, Helm and container platform engineering.
• Experience working in enterprise or regulated environments, preferably financial services.
• Strong DevOps and automation mindset.
