Senior Ecologist – Basingstoke

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Ecologist to lead ecological surveys and deliver high‑quality technical reports for infrastructure, development and environmental projects. The role is based in Basingstoke and offers a supportive, collaborative environment where you will work closely with engineering and environmental professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and conduct ecological surveys across a range of projects.
• Prepare detailed technical reports and ecological assessments.
• Manage project timelines, budgets and client communications.
• Provide expert advice to clients and stakeholders on wildlife and habitat matters.
• Collaborate with environmental and engineering teams to develop innovative solutions.
• Mentor and support junior ecologists and contribute to team development.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Senior Ecologist or in a comparable consultancy role.
• Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science or a related discipline.
• Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK.
• Residence within reasonable commuting distance of Basingstoke.
• Strong communication and organisational abilities.
