Senior Ecologist – Bristol

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Ecologist to lead high‑quality ecological services for a range of projects, including renewables, solar and infrastructure, based in Bristol. The role offers hybrid working, professional development and a supportive team environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead ecological field surveys and assessments across diverse project types.
• Design and implement mitigation strategies for protected species and habitats.
• Mentor and provide technical support to junior ecologists.
• Liaise with clients, regulatory bodies and planning consultants.
• Produce detailed reports and documentation for planning submissions.
• Contribute to business development and tender preparation.

Required profile

• Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science or a related discipline.
• Significant experience in ecological consultancy, preferably at senior level.
• Strong technical field skills and a protected‑species licence (e.g., bats, great crested newts).
• Good knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and planning policy.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary projects or teams.
• Full UK driving licence.
