Senior Employment Lawyer – London or Birmingham

About the role

We are seeking a senior employment lawyer to join our Employment Law Group in either our London or Birmingham office. The role provides strategic legal advice across the firm’s EMEA footprint, supporting HR, senior management and business units on a wide range of employment matters.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a trusted advisor to HR colleagues and senior managers on employment law issues.
• Manage employment‑related disputes in tribunals and courts, including oversight of external counsel.
• Advise on and conduct internal investigations, particularly those with regulatory dimensions.
• Lead or contribute to strategic projects such as corporate transactions, reorganisations, reward and benefit design, and regulatory reform initiatives.
• Provide guidance on compensation and benefits matters, including pay‑reporting obligations and policy considerations.

Required profile

• 10+ years post‑qualification experience (PQE) in employment law, either in private practice or in‑house.
• Proven track record of advising on employment matters and managing dispute resolution.
• Excellent organisational, project‑management and communication abilities.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across diverse business groups.
• Highly motivated, proactive and able to respond calmly in a fast‑paced environment.
