Senior Equipment Engineer – Dayshift (Epitaxy)

About the role

We are seeking a Dayshift Equipment Engineer within the Epitaxy module. Reporting to the Module Manager, the role works closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure equipment stability and drive continuous improvement in a leading R&D environment.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor tool performance against targets and address issues promptly.
• Control equipment spend while maintaining required performance levels.
• Maintain up‑to‑date maintenance documentation and spare parts inventory.
• Lead continuous‑improvement initiatives to maximise tool availability.
• Liaise with vendors to identify equipment enhancements and ensure compliance with procurement specifications.
• Manage part‑obsolescence risks and develop mitigation plans.
• Participate in new tool selection, installation and fab integration.
• Provide technical support and training to module engineers and shift staff.

Required profile

• Minimum HNC in Electrical, Electronic or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical and electronic disciplines, with ability to read schematics and circuit diagrams.
• At least 5 years’ experience in a high‑tech maintenance environment.
• Experience with semiconductor equipment, preferably MOCVD tool ownership.
