Senior Finance Business Partner (UK Operations)

About the role

The British Red Cross is looking for a UK Operations Senior Finance Business Partner to drive financial performance and strategic decision-making across its UK operations. The role suits a seasoned finance professional who gives strategic financial guidance to business leaders, works with cross-functional teams and turns business objectives into clear business cases, costs and schedules. It is based in the UK with flexible working (remote, hybrid or on-site).

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to annual business plans for a given area or department, aligned with strategy.
• Recommend financial and headcount budgets.
• Translate business objectives into business cases, costs and schedules to support growth.
• Develop and/or deliver budget plans with guidance from senior colleagues.
• Give specialist advice to senior managers at business unit or regional level on implementing policy, projects and change initiatives.
• Lead and communicate the actions needed to implement the function's strategy and business plan within the team.

Required profile

• Experience influencing senior and challenging stakeholders and decision-makers.
• Experience and understanding of the not-for-profit sector.
• Experience of working positively with centres of excellence across the organisation.
• Ability to lead and develop a highly skilled professional team.

Required skills

• Computer literacy and ability to use data to derive insight and make decisions.
• Collaboration skills; knowledge of computerised financial systems such as Anaplan and Agresso and the Microsoft suite (desirable).
• Experience of NHS contracting and/or grant management (desirable).

What we offer

• Salary of £72,000 to £80,000 per annum, pro rata, for 35 hours per week.
