Senior Finance Manager

About the role

An international professional services firm with operations in the UK and the US is looking for a Finance Manager to run the finance function day to day, reporting directly to the Managing Director and acting as the finance voice for the senior team. It is a hands-on role where you do the numbers yourself while steering a small team, with scope to shape how finance works across both sides of the Atlantic. The client is open to someone qualified by experience, or a strong Assistant Finance Manager or Senior Management Accountant ready to move up.

Key responsibilities

• Run month ends through to management accounts, KPIs and commentary for the leadership team
• Prepare the yearly budget with department heads and track actuals against it
• Build and update pricing, tender and scenario models
• Analyse profitability by client, contract and service line
• Oversee balance sheet reviews, AR/AP, expense claims and outsourced payroll
• Manage the US side of the books, including intercompany balances and transfer pricing
• Coach and bring on junior team members
• Act as main contact for external accountants and the year-end audit
• Improve processes, systems and controls

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification, or QBE
• 2+ years in a similar role, or currently in a second-in-command position ready to step up
• Track record of building commercial models such as pricing, tenders or contract margin analysis
• Experience leading or mentoring junior finance staff
• Able to explain figures clearly to non-finance colleagues
