Senior Finance Officer

About the role

Reed is seeking a proactive Senior Finance Officer to join its Finance Team on a permanent part‑time basis. Working 20‑25 hours per week across 4‑5 days during term time plus four additional weeks, you will help shape finance systems, improve processes and ensure robust financial controls.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the administration, development and improvement of finance, purchasing and budgeting systems.
• Provide expert support, guidance and training to colleagues on finance systems and processes.
• Maintain strong financial controls, compliance and data quality.
• Identify and implement efficiency gains through automation and process enhancements.
• Support financial reporting, analysis and month‑end / year‑end activities.
• Collaborate with budget holders to deliver a high‑quality finance service.

Required profile

• Experience working in a finance, systems or data‑focused environment.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to explain technical information clearly to non‑technical users.
• Excellent organisational skills and the capacity to work both independently and as part of a team.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency, especially Excel.
