Senior Financial Accountant

About the role

Join a well‑respected organisation in Chichester as a Senior Financial Accountant. You will lead the preparation and review of financial statements, ensure compliance with legislation and standards, and support senior management with financial insight.

Key responsibilities

• Lead preparation and review of financial statements, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
• Oversee statutory submissions and regulatory returns, meeting deadlines and maintaining high accuracy.
• Manage treasury functions, including cash‑flow forecasting, bank relationships and covenant compliance.
• Provide guidance on taxation matters such as VAT and Corporation Tax, liaising with HMRC and external advisors.
• Develop and maintain robust financial controls and systems, exploring innovative solutions such as AI and digital tools.

Required profile

• Extensive financial accounting experience in a complex environment or a qualified accountant moving from public practice.
• Strong technical expertise with the ability to advise senior management on financial matters.
• Excellent leadership skills, capable of managing and developing a team.
• Highly organised, proactive and meticulous with attention to detail in a deadline‑driven setting.
