Senior Front Office Engineer – Global Energy Commodities Trading

About the role

Join a leading energy trading and infrastructure investment firm as a Senior Front Office Engineer. Based in London, you will work within the Data Science & Technology team to deliver cloud‑native solutions that directly impact trading performance and risk management.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with traders and analysts to engineer and optimise trading processes and strategies.
• Build and maintain scalable, high‑performance Python services and APIs.
• Design and implement cloud‑native tools that integrate seamlessly with the Front Office platform.
• Create a robust, reusable framework to support back‑testing activities.

Required profile

• Strong professional experience in any programming language, with Python highly beneficial.
• Proficiency in SQL and relational database technologies.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices.
• Effective communication with both technical and non‑technical colleagues.
• Desirable exposure to AWS and Snowflake.
• Experience building back‑testing engines, systematic trading, or working in energy/commodities trading.
