Senior HR Business Partner

About the role

This permanent, full‑time position is based on‑site in London and reports directly to the HR Director. The Senior HR Business Partner will act as a strategic advisor to senior leaders within a complex, global, asset‑intensive organisation, blending high‑level HR strategy with hands‑on delivery for a diverse operational workforce.

Key responsibilities

• Align people strategy with commercial and operational objectives and support the broader people agenda.
• Lead workforce planning, organisational design and use people analytics to anticipate risks and measure impact.
• Drive cultural and organisational change to improve agility and performance.
• Support talent and succession planning, identify capability gaps and shape recruitment and onboarding practices.
• Develop and embed performance frameworks, ensuring KPIs align with business priorities.
• Lead change and transformation programmes, providing communication, engagement and coaching for leaders.
• Provide expert guidance on UK and international employee relations, managing complex cases with fairness.
• Review, update and implement HR policies to ensure compliance with legislation and internal governance.

Required profile

• Significant HR business partnering or senior generalist experience in complex, international, heavy‑asset sectors (e.g., shipping, energy, aerospace).
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to translate business needs into practical people solutions.
• Solid understanding of UK employment law with exposure to international contexts.
• High digital and data literacy, using insights to support decision‑making.
• Proven experience across talent, performance, organisational design and change management.
• Pragmatic, resilient, low‑ego approach with strong relationship‑building skills.
