Senior HR Manager

About the role

We are partnering with a fast‑growing business in Manchester to hire a Senior HR Manager. The role blends operational and strategic HR work, leading a small team while driving employee engagement, wellbeing and organisational effectiveness.

Key responsibilities

• Support senior leaders across the business, coaching, guiding and improving leadership capability
• Lead organisational design, succession planning and workforce planning initiatives
• Manage and deliver HR projects
• Oversee HR operations, including policies, processes, systems and technology
• Identify opportunities for improvement and implement solutions
• Ensure compliance, governance and best practice are embedded across the business
• Manage an employee‑relations caseload of escalated issues
• Provide legally sound advice to managers on employment law
• Support managers with performance‑management reviews and objective setting
• Collaborate with L&D to create development opportunities, succession planning and internal career pathways
• Drive employee experience, wellbeing and inclusion initiatives
• Own HR metrics, reporting and dashboards to inform business decisions

Required profile

• Proven experience at Senior HR Manager or HR Business Partner level, preferably in a dynamic or fast‑growing organisation
• Level 7 CIPD qualification or equivalent experience
• Ability to manage complex employee‑relations issues
• Strong HR generalist background with both operational and strategic expertise
• Management experience leading a small HR team
• Exceptional relationship‑building skills with senior leaders
• Experience delivering organisational change and HR projects
