Senior Information Assurance Engineer

About the role

Leidos is looking for a Senior Information Assurance Engineer to join its UK Cyber Security team. The role supports high‑impact programmes in Defence, Intelligence, Logistics and National Security, delivering practical security assurance and risk‑based decision making.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive assurance strategy across complex UK programmes.
• Produce and maintain assurance artefacts such as SyOPs, RMADs, Security Impact Assessments and accreditation evidence.
• Lead audits, control assessments, incident‑response activities and vulnerability‑management campaigns.
• Collaborate with customers, suppliers and multidisciplinary delivery teams to embed security throughout the project lifecycle.
• Advance the maturity of the security assurance capability, including NIST‑aligned risk assessment methods, tooling and reporting.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering information assurance, risk management and security assurance in Defence, Government or other highly regulated environments.
• Eligibility for DV clearance and British nationality.
• Ability to work on‑site in Huntingdon at least four days a week, with occasional travel across the UK.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of NIST RMF/CSF and ISO 27001 frameworks.
• Experience with Government security frameworks and assurance documentation.
• Hands‑on use of vulnerability‑scanning tools such as Nessus, Trivy and Tenable.
• Competence in risk assessment, security impact analysis and accreditation processes.
