Senior Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

Acorn Insurance is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join its Liverpool headquarters. You will work within a 3rd‑line escalation team, supporting both on‑premises and Azure environments while ensuring resilience, performance and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the deployment, monitoring and recovery planning for on‑premises infrastructure, including servers, storage and networking.
• Collaborate with Cloud Platform, Project, Development and SecOps teams to deliver new deployments and maintain existing services.
• Drive 3rd‑line support processes, manage tickets within SLA and contribute to continuous improvement of support quality.
• Develop and test disaster recovery plans, and work with SecOps to remediate identified vulnerabilities.
• Evaluate and implement new infrastructure products, contributing to technical design and best‑practice documentation.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of infrastructure experience, including at least 1 year in a senior or lead capacity.
• Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Windows Server, Microsoft Exchange (including hybrid setups) and Office 365.
• Experience supervising or mentoring technical staff is advantageous.
• Proactive problem‑solving approach with solid ITIL working knowledge.
