Senior Insurance Solicitor – Complex Insurance & Reinsurance

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Insurance Solicitor to join a top‑50 national law firm’s highly regarded Insurance & Risk team in London. The role involves advising on complex insurance and reinsurance matters and contributing to the practice’s growth.

Key responsibilities

• Advise insurers, MGAs, reinsurers and other market participants on a broad range of complex insurance coverage matters, claims and disputes.
• Manage high‑value property damage claims, coverage disputes and subrogated recoveries, delivering commercially focused advice.
• Draft and review insurance policy wordings, with a focus on property damage risks, and represent clients in complex disputes before the Commercial Court and the Technology & Construction Court.
• Collaborate with experienced specialists while actively supporting business development through client seminars, articles and thought‑leadership initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years post‑qualification experience (PQE) in insurance or reinsurance, gained in a recognised City practice, specialist insurance firm or comparable in‑house environment.
• Exceptional technical expertise, strong commercial awareness and a thorough understanding of the London insurance market.
• Excellent communication and client‑relationship management skills.
