Senior Legal Counsel – FCA

About the role

Our client, a leading insurance organisation, is looking for a Senior Legal Counsel with FCA expertise to join their in‑house legal team. You will provide strategic legal advice across regulated and non‑regulated contracts, ensuring compliance while maximising commercial advantage.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, negotiate and advise on high‑value contracts, including insurance, credit hire and consumer credit agreements.
• Interpret and apply regulatory law for financial services, balancing Consumer Duty requirements with business objectives.
• Support new business and product ventures with holistic commercial and operational insight.
• Lead commercial projects for both B2C and B2B initiatives and manage day‑to‑day legal issues in regulated entities.
• Collaborate with the Group Risk and Compliance team on regulatory matters.

Required profile

• UK qualified solicitor with a minimum of 4 years post‑qualification experience.
• Proven expertise in insurance law and regulatory compliance within the financial services sector.
• Strong experience in drafting and negotiating complex legal agreements.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Proactive approach to managing multiple priorities.
