Senior Legal Counsel – Property Development

About the role

The role is a sole legal counsel position within a leading international property group delivering large‑scale residential and mixed‑use projects across the UK. Reporting directly to senior leadership, the Senior Legal Counsel will influence commercial decisions from day one and shape the legal strategy for the UK business.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on acquisitions, development, planning, construction, asset management, leasing, and corporate matters.
• Lead contract drafting, negotiation and review for high‑value development projects.
• Manage disputes and litigation related to property development.
• Provide legal input to senior stakeholders and contribute to strategic business decisions.
• Coordinate with the international legal function to ensure consistent compliance and risk management.
• Support asset management and post‑completion legal issues.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with significant experience in real estate law.
• Proven track record in both private practice and in‑house environments.
• Commercially minded with ability to work autonomously and influence senior leadership.
• Experience advising on development, construction, acquisitions or asset management matters.
