Senior Legal Counsel – Smart Power (UK & Ireland)

About the role

ABB is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to provide strategic legal advice for its Smart Power and Electrification business across the UK and Ireland. You will work closely with business stakeholders, Division General Counsels, and external counsel to manage legal risk and ensure compliance with a wide range of regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver proactive legal advice and risk management for commercial and distribution contracts, public tenders, data‑center and nuclear power projects.
• Support M&A activities, including due diligence, risk assessments and integrity reviews.
• Manage litigation and arbitration matters, acting as primary liaison with external counsel.
• Ensure compliance with data‑privacy, cybersecurity, environmental, trade and other regulatory obligations.
• Develop and maintain authorization matrices, policies and governance frameworks; deliver related training.
• Monitor emerging legal issues and provide strategic input on local business matters.

Required profile

• Senior‑level legal experience, preferably within the energy or industrial sector.
• Proven ability to advise on complex commercial contracts and regulatory compliance.
• Experience handling M&A transactions and dispute resolution.
