Senior Legal Counsel (US Qualified)

About the role

We are partnering with a fast‑growing fintech to appoint a US‑qualified Senior Legal Counsel based in London. The role will lead the company’s US legal function, acting as a commercial partner to senior stakeholders and supporting the business’s expansion into the United States.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive legal support for the company’s US operations.
• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements.
• Advise on product launches, strategic initiatives and regulatory considerations.
• Collaborate with senior leaders across Legal, Compliance and the broader business.
• Manage external counsel as needed.
• Help shape the overall legal strategy as the business scales internationally.

Required profile

• US‑qualified lawyer with at least 5 years post‑qualification experience at a leading law firm.
• Strong background in commercial contracts.
• Experience advising high‑growth, financial services or fintech clients is a plus.
• Open to candidates from private practice or in‑house teams, provided they have a top‑tier private practice foundation.
• Commercial mindset with the ability to work autonomously and influence senior stakeholders.
