Senior Linux System Administrator

About the role

You will join a specialist security team that supports a big‑data platform for a UK critical national infrastructure customer. The platform underpins cutting‑edge cybersecurity and data‑science tools, and the team works with DevOps practices to keep pace with rapidly changing security demands.

Key responsibilities

• Administer, maintain and improve Linux server environments across production and development.
• Support and manage VMware vSphere infrastructure, including virtual machines, resource allocation and host configuration.
• Develop and maintain automation solutions, preferably using Ansible, to streamline deployments and routine tasks.
• Troubleshoot complex issues related to operating systems, networking, performance and storage.
• Ensure interoperability with Windows Server systems where required.

Required profile

• Eligible for Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance and resident in the UK for 10+ years.
• Senior‑level experience in Linux administration (Red Hat or similar).
• Proven experience with VMware vSphere environments.
• Hands‑on experience creating automation with Ansible.
• Strong troubleshooting, scripting and continuous‑integration skills.
