Senior Maintenance Engineer – Building Services

About the role

As a Senior Maintenance Engineer you will lead the planning and execution of preventative maintenance, reactive repairs, statutory compliance and minor MEP projects across our two London sites. Working closely with the Building Services Manager, you will supervise maintenance operatives and external contractors, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for residents, staff and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, monitor and optimise Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) programmes.
• Coordinate reactive maintenance activities and ensure timely resolution.
• Maintain statutory compliance for all building services.
• Supervise maintenance teams and external contractors.
• Manage minor Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) projects.
• Use CAFM systems to keep accurate maintenance records.
• Promote and enforce health and safety standards on site.

Required profile

• Recognised qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Plumbing or a related discipline (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
• Strong experience in building services maintenance.
• Proven track record managing PPM programmes, reactive maintenance and statutory compliance.
• Ability to lead and supervise teams and contractors effectively.
• Experience with CAFM systems and accurate record‑keeping.
• Excellent organisational, communication and problem‑solving abilities.
