Senior Managing Director – Construction Advisory (London)

About the role

J.S. Held is seeking an accomplished Senior Managing Director to lead and expand its Construction Advisory practice across the EMEA and APAC regions. This senior leadership position will shape go‑to‑market strategy, build high‑performing teams, and position the firm as a trusted advisor in complex infrastructure and construction matters.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive the strategic growth of the Construction Advisory practice.
• Recruit, mentor, and scale a multidisciplinary team across key markets.
• Enhance J.S. Held’s brand through thought leadership and market engagement.
• Lead complex construction claims, dispute resolution, and advisory assignments for infrastructure, energy, and real‑estate projects.
• Provide expert analysis on quantum and damages, delay/disruption, loss of productivity, contract interpretation, and change‑order claims.
• Act as a senior trusted advisor to developers, contractors, investors, and legal counsel, presenting findings to executive stakeholders and dispute forums.
• Develop and execute a regional business‑development strategy to expand the firm’s footprint.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in construction claims, dispute resolution, and advisory services.
• Demonstrated ability to build and scale high‑performing teams in international markets.
• Strong market‑facing presence with a track record of winning complex, high‑value engagements.
• Deep understanding of infrastructure, energy, and real‑estate sectors across EMEA and APAC.
