Senior Mechanic – Bike Repair & Upcycling

About the role

We are looking for a passionate Senior Mechanic to join Westminster Wheels, a community bike shop operated by Groundwork London. You will lead bike repair and up‑cycling projects while training new staff and volunteers, helping to expand cycling in Westminster.

Key responsibilities

• Service, refurbish and prepare bicycles for resale or donation.
• Select bikes for refurbishment and maximise the use of reclaimed parts.
• Inspect and repair incoming bikes to meet safety standards.
• Diagnose faults, carry out repairs and perform quality checks against set deadlines.
• Support senior staff and contribute to project targets and outputs.

Required profile

• Level 2 recognised qualification in bicycle maintenance.
• Practical experience working in a busy bike shop.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow maintenance standards.
• Team‑oriented mindset with the ability to manage own workload.

What we offer
