Senior Mechanical Engineer

About the role

Hulley & Kirkwood, a multi‑award‑winning building services consultancy, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and delivery of mechanical building services across commercial, healthcare, education and public sector projects. The role combines technical excellence with a strong focus on sustainability and low‑carbon solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of mechanical building services projects from concept to completion.
• Produce high‑quality technical designs, calculations and engineering reports.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients to ensure integrated solutions.
• Manage project delivery schedules, budgets and quality standards.
• Mentor and support junior engineers throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Proven experience in mechanical building services design.
• Ability to manage projects from concept through to completion.
• Strong communication and commercial awareness.
• Passion for delivering sustainable, low‑carbon engineering solutions.
• Chartered status or working towards professional accreditation is highly desirable.
