Senior Merchandiser

About the role

Mountain Warehouse is a fast‑growing global outdoor retailer seeking an enthusiastic Senior Merchandiser to drive category performance across online and retail channels.

Key responsibilities

• Drive the seasonal strategy, ensuring category KPIs align with the brand strategy.
• Plan and buy a balanced range within budget, meeting channel and regional requirements.
• Trade the category to maximise sales, profit and availability throughout the season.
• Maintain the Category WSSI, communicating forecasts, risks and additional requirements.
• Identify and communicate open‑to‑buy (OTB) requirements and manage seasonal stock sign‑off processes.
• Work closely with buying and suppliers to hit critical path milestones for seasonal launches.
• Lead and coach the merchandising team, fostering development and high performance.
• Communicate clearly with stakeholders and build effective relationships across functions.

Required profile

• Proven experience at merchandiser level within a retail environment.
• Strong commercial and numerical skills with the ability to analyse sales and stock data.
• Excellent organisational and planning abilities to manage multiple priorities and critical trading activities.
• Knowledge of shop and web operations and how merchandising decisions impact performance.
• High attention to detail ensuring accuracy in forecasts, reporting and stock management.
• Confident communicator and collaborative team player able to work with buying, retail and e‑commerce teams.
