Senior Multi-Disciplined NDT Technician

About the role

The Senior Multi-Disciplined NDT Technician will lead non‑destructive testing activities on a variety of components, ensuring safety, compliance and high‑quality results. The role requires strong technical expertise, risk‑aware working practices and the ability to produce clear inspection reports.

Key responsibilities

• Perform a range of NDT techniques (UT, Dye Penetrant, MPI, etc.) on components requiring inspection.
• Maintain a safe work environment, carry out risk assessments and follow health, safety and environmental procedures.
• Conduct equipment function tests, report any faults and ensure calibration per procedure.
• Execute inspections according to client specifications, evaluate results and document findings.
• Prepare concise reports that detail methods, results, limitations and any high‑density areas.
• Work efficiently to meet deadlines, adapt to changing priorities and follow Oceaneering operating procedures.
• Promote waste reduction, suggest environmentally friendly practices and support continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Essential: PCN Level 2 UT (3.1), PCN/SNT Level 2 Dye Penetrant, PCN/SNT Level 2 MPI, full UK driving licence.
• Desirable: PCN Level 2 Ultrasonics (3.2), SNT Level 2 Thickness Lamination & Corrosion Monitoring, PMI Hardness testing, GCSE/Standard Grade passes in English, Maths and Science.
• Strong organisational, interpersonal and communication skills; flexible, team‑oriented approach.

Required skills

• Ultrasonic Testing (UT) – PCN Level 2.
• Dye Penetrant Testing – PCN/SNT Level 2.
• Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) – PCN/SNT Level 2.
• Advanced Ultrasonics (Level 2, 3.2).
• Thickness Lamination & Corrosion Monitoring – SNT Level 2.
• Hardness testing – PMI certified.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PeopleSoft.
