About the role
We are seeking a commercially driven Senior National Account Manager to own a high‑profile customer portfolio within a leading fast‑moving consumer goods (FMCG) business. In this strategic position you will have significant autonomy to shape the relationship with senior buyers, drive profitable growth and influence long‑term business planning.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the commercial management of a major customer account, meeting sales, profit, distribution and new product development targets.
- Develop, execute and review Joint Business Plans aligned with broader company objectives.
- Negotiate annual terms, CPI adjustments, promotional agreements and new listings.
- Own the full customer P&L, managing trade investment and promotional spend.
- Provide accurate forecasting, reporting and commercial analysis with actionable insights.
- Create and implement customer‑specific promotional and shopper activation programmes.
- Build and maintain senior‑level relationships both internally and externally.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with Category, Marketing, NPD, Supply Chain and Finance teams.
- Monitor market trends, customer strategy and competitor activity to identify risks and opportunities.
- Potentially manage or mentor junior commercial team members.
Required profile
- Proven track record of managing and growing strategic retail accounts in the FMCG sector.
- Experience handling complex negotiations and joint business planning.
- Strong commercial acumen with full P&L responsibility.
- Ability to work autonomously while influencing senior stakeholders.
- Ready to step into a larger, more complex account or seek a fresh challenge.
